If Jesus was just a meek and mild man, it is doubtful whether anyone would have wanted to crucify him. Some of the things that Jesus said and did, however, were so contrary to the accepted rules of human life that it was hard not to view him as a terrible threat. Do we understand today how revolutionary Jesus’ vision of life was? Is that vision something we are living by or desire to follow? Or do we prefer to see the real Jesus put to death too? |
